Yasmeen Elbanna, LMFT
I provide teletherapy across California, specializing in evidence-based treatment for OCD and related disorders. Approximately 80% of my clients present with OCD, BDD, GAD, perfectionism, or social anxiety. I utilize CBT, ERP, ACT, and DBT to address intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and related symptoms. I have treated many adults with OCD and related conditions, supporting them in reducing symptom severity, building tolerance for uncertainty, and engaging in values-driven living.
I have been treating OCD and related disorders using ERP, CBT, ACT, and DBT since 2022. My training includes attendance at IOCDF and OCD SoCal conferences, as well as advanced workshops through PESI, Evergreen Certifications, and ERP-focused training through Choice Therapy. I have completed continuing education in OCD diagnosis, assessment, and evidence-based treatment planning. I participate in ongoing OCD consultation groups to ensure adherence to best practices and receive case support. My approach integrates cultural competence into ERP and related interventions to provide individualized and accessible care.
I specialize in culturally responsive ERP treatment and work with a diverse client base, including Arab, Muslim, and first-generation individuals. My practice reflects a wide range of cultural, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I approach treatment with cultural humility and an understanding of intersectionality, recognizing the impact of systemic stressors, immigration experiences, faith, and identity on mental health. I integrate these considerations into evidence-based care to ensure treatment is both clinically effective and culturally attuned.
I have completed ongoing CEUs on cultural competency and culturally responsive ERP. I run networking groups for therapists that emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating space for collaboration across cultural backgrounds. My training includes workshops focused on cultural humility in OCD treatment, as well as adapting ERP, CBT, and ACT interventions for clients from diverse populations. I bring lived experience as an Arab-American therapist and prioritize identity, cultural values, and systemic factors in treatment to ensure clients feel understood and supported.
