I maintain a private practice in which 85-90% of my clients have OCD or a related disorder. As a specialist for 25 years, I have treated thousands of clients of all ages with OCD and related disorders. I provide treatment in-person, via tele-therapy, off-site, or via home visits when clinically beneficial. As needed I offer more frequent sessions to address intensive treatment needs. I provide couples treatment as well as parenting skills when relationships and/or parenting is impacted by OCD and related disorders. I work with school systems/teachers/school staff addressing and advocating for 504 and IEP needs of children/adolescents.
Can provide Super-bill to clients. Will also participate in Single Case Agreements in some cases.
I have 25 years experience working with all ages with OCD and related disorders, ADHD, Learning Dis, Tourettes, BFRD’s, BDD, Hoarding Dis, Eating Dis (provided client is medically stable), General Anxiety Dis, Panic Dis, Social Anxiety Dis, and Phobias. I also treat depression, as well as behavioral issues in children and adolescents. I complete initial comprehensive evaluations, interview parents (of children and adol), establish treatment plans addressing safety, level of care needed, possible referral for pharmacology as needed, psycho-education, and then proceed with evidenced based treatment. Treatment may include ERP, HRT, ACT, CBT, CBIT etc as appropriate. I incorporate support systems and teach strategies and skills so that clients learn to apply and practice new skills and behaviors independently. I am an outpatient practice and provide treatment in-person, via tele-therapy or off site (at client’s home or in alternate location) when clinically beneficial.
Early in my career I received training from multiple clinicians who specialized in OCD and related disorders. I gained experience with children and adolescents who also had ADHD, Autism, and learning issues at several developmental clinics. As an Associate Clinical Professor at the UCSD OCD Clinic, I provided didactics and supervision to psychiatric residents and therapists in treating OCD and related disorders. While at UCSD I was able to benefit from attending workshops on the treatment of Easting Disorders. I have worked as a therapist for NOCD in the past and have maintained my private practice for over 20 years.
I worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital for approximately 5-6 years and have extensive experience and training working with veterans and their families.
I worked in the field of Geropsychiatry at the VA Hospital and received extensive experience working with the geriatric and senior population.
In the course of my experience I have worked with a diversity of ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. I seek to understand the ethnicity and cultural background of all my clients and work toward providing treatment in a way that respects and incorporates the values, cultural norms and roles of my clients and their families.
