Sarah Farris LCPC
I offer outpatient therapy services in IL and WI. The majority of my case load is focused on Anxiety related concerns and about 65% of my clients have a diagnosis of OCD, while others may be dealing with Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Generalized Disorder, or other O-C related anxiety. I apply Cognitive Behavioral interventions, including exposure and response prevention, mindfulness based and ACT approaches.
I began participating in introductory courses on treating OCD with ERP in 2017 and completed the BTTI in 2019. I continue to read up to date research and access OCD resources and I have also completed training for BDD through MGH. I engage in peer consultation several times a month. I have been working with clients with OCD and OC related disorders for 4 years.
In my educational training, I have studied multiculturalism and the importance of recognizing disparities in healthcare. I have a Master of Art in Bicultural-Bilingual Studies and recently attended a training titled, “The Antiracist Therapy Room: Addressing Racial Equity, Race-Based Trauma, and Racism”. I continue to examine the importance of being culturally competent and reflect on my impact as a therapist.
