Sharon Fischer LICSW

Social Worker

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Therapist

Narrative of Services:

I worked in a pediatric medical practice serving children and adolescents on the North Shore up until May 2017 when I left to take a break to stay home with my two young children. I helped kids and their parents with many issues, predominantly anxiety. About a quarter of my clients presented with OCD spectrum disorders. I worked with clients and their families as a team using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention. I also worked in private practice in Lexington helping kids and teens with anxiety-related disorders.

Facilities accessible by clients of all mobility levels: No

Training Description:

I’ve been in practice since 2006. Much of my advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy was at Stanford University from 2010-2011 where I attended a weekly group run by David Burns’ Feeling Good Institute as well as with a senior supervisor who coached me during this training and after. I also ran a weekly satellite group based on the methods taught to me in the Stanford University group in the Boston area for mental health professionals from 2011-2013.
