My practice provides outpatient mental health counseling services to individuals experiencing anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and related disorders, as well as other mental health concerns. Services include comprehensive assessment, individualized treatment planning, evidence-based psychotherapy, and ongoing clinical support. OCD and related disorders represent approximately half of my practice. To date, I have provided assessment and/or treatment services to approximately 80 individuals diagnosed with OCD and/or a related disorder. My approach emphasizes individualized care, symptom reduction, functional improvement, and development of effective coping strategies.
Treatment of comorbidities is integrated into the overall treatment plan based on each client’s presenting concerns, symptom severity, and functional needs. Clients receive an individualized assessment to identify OCD symptoms and co-occurring conditions, such as anxiety or mood-related concerns. Treatment prioritizes the most clinically significant symptoms while addressing comorbidities as appropriate. Evidence-based interventions are incorporated throughout treatment, with ongoing monitoring of symptoms and progress. Treatment goals and interventions are adjusted as needed to support overall functioning and recovery while maintaining a focus on OCD and related-disorder symptom reduction.
I specialize in evidence based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), one of the most effective means of treatment for anxiety and depressive disorders. CBT can help individuals identify self- defeating thoughts and feelings, replacing these with healthier beliefs, and ultimately leading to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life. I have also pursued specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) – the “go to” treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. ERP can also be helpful for those individuals experiencing intrusive/obsessional thoughts.
