Sherry Henig PhD
Currently, about 50% of my caseload involves clients presenting with OCD and related disorders. My approach includes exposure and response prevention (ERP), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I work with contamination fears, fear of vomiting, perfectionism, scrupulosity, violent and sexual obsessions, sexual orientation OCD, relationship OCD and existential OCD. You can learn more about me at www.sherryhenig.com.
I hold a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and have practiced for nearly 40 years, with greater attention to OCD the past 15 years. I’ve participated in two IOCDF BTTI trainings, and I regularly attend OCD conferences and consult with experts. My postdoctoral diploma in child and adolescent psychotherapy enhances my work with the OCD pediatric population. I’m a certified sex therapist, and that contributes to my sensitivity to certain aspects of OCD presentations, including intrusive sexual thoughts, sexual orientation OCD and relationship OCD. My recent certification in Telemental Health and Digital Ethics enhances treatment that involves electronic communication and videoconferencing.
