Amy Herter LMFT
Providing psychotherapy in a private practice setting treating patients with OCD and OCD related disorders since 1999. I have extensive experience working with adults, children, and adolescents diagnosed with OCD and related disorders. My practice is primarily focused on OCD and anxiety. I especially enjoy assisting clients who are experiencing alarming or disturbing intrusive thoughts. My areas of specialty are OCD, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, emetophobia (fear of vomiting), skin picking, and trichotillomania (hair pulling). I work with clients using cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, such as exposure and response prevention (ERP), and ComB treatment for body focused repetitive disorders.
I attended the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (BTTI), intensive training for OCD and OCD related disorders. I also attended TLC’s Professional Training Institute (PTI), training for body focused repetitive behaviors (hair pulling, skin picking, and nail biting). I have been working with clients diagnosed with OCD in a private practice setting for over 20 years.
