Britt Jagodnik LICSW
Thank you for reading. About a third of my practice is dedicated to the treatment of Body Dysmorphic Disorder, a highly emotionally distressing psychological disorder that is vastly misunderstood and causes the sufferer considerable shame. I work to alleviate painful rituals and compulsions through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (changing thoughts and behaviors through structured exercises in and outside of therapy). For those who wish to go on a deeper journey, I collaboratively explore root causes of BDD, including childhood wounds that can give rise to a fragile sense of self and overemphasis on appearance.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with fifteen year’s experience in direct patient care. While my post-Masters training has focused primarily on psychoanalysis and intensive psychodynamic therapy, I have a thorough knowledge of Body Dysmorphic Disorder based on extensive reading, as well as taking the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Body Dysmorphic Disorder course at Massachusetts General Hospital Psychiatry Academy.
Please note, due to COVID-19 I am providing teletherapy only. I will continue to assess the viability of in office sessions as more safety information becomes available.
