Jayson L. Mystkowski PhD, ABPP
Founder, Director, & Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Over half of my clients present with an anxiety disorder diagnosis, with several meeting criteria for OCD or an OC spectrum disorder. I practice within a cognitive-behavioral (CBT) framework, including mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), specializing in the treatment of adults with anxiety (e.g., panic, worry, phobias, OCD, and PTSD) and mood disorders (e.g., depression). In addition, I have training in the psychological treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), insomnia, and bipolar disorder, as well as an extensive background working with LGBTQ+ clients.
From 1997-2008, I collaborated on anxiety treatment studies that included numerous OCD/OC spectrum clients at UCLA (Supervisors: Drs. Michelle Craske & Alexander Bystritsky) via practicum placements and post-doctoral training. I also saw OCD/OC spectrum clients while working at the Greater Los Angeles Veterans Administration Hospital System, and an internship at UCLA’s Counseling & Psychological Services. As part of my graduate school training in clinical psychology and licensure coursework over the last 20+ years, I have completed or attended numerous classes on cultural competency and working with diverse populations.
