Narrative of Services:
I offer a multi-modal approach that addresses OCD and related common symptoms/conditions (tics, hypochondriasis, body dysmorphic disorder, hoarding, other anxiety disorders): very intensive (up to 16 hrs/wk) CBT with ERP (including in vivo/in home sessions, as needed), Biofeedback, clinical hypnosis, mindfulness, breath retraining, CBIT, and bibliotherapy. Mandatory bi-weekly parent sessions and very frequent (sometimes daily) consultation with parents. Meeting/consults with schools, siblings, coaches, etc. “as needed”. Approximately 1000 pediatric patients with OCD and OCD-related disorders treated over past 25 years.
Licensed clinical child/adolescent psychologist and pediatric nurse practitioner. Private practice: 25 years subspecialty: pediatric anxiety disorders (mild to severe OCD), stress-related conditions, mind-body and medical issues. Former Director of Anxiety, Stress & Health Clinic at Stanford-affiliated child mental health agency. PhD (1993), two Masters (1990, 1976), PNP certificate from UCSD Medical School (1977), plus trainings at IOCDF and ADAA conferences from Foa, Mansueto, Wilson, March, Chansky, Wagner, etc. Certificates and daily use pediatric hypnosis (28 yrs), mindfulness (Kabat-Zinn) (7 yrs), computerized biofeedback (STENS Corp.) (22 yrs), CBIT. Work with children/teens, parents in hospitals, clinics, subspecialty clinics over 45 year career.
