Narrative of Services:

My practice provides psychotherapy for individuals with OCD and related anxiety disorders. Approximately 25% of my practice focuses on OCD, while an additional 50% involves anxiety disorders frequently characterized by obsessive-compulsive features, including excessive overthinking, catastrophic thought loops, phobias, and avoidance behaviors. Treatment emphasizes evidence-based approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention and Acceptance and Commitment therapy. The practice also has in-house psychiatrists knowledgeable in OCD treatment, as well as access to Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) services, supporting coordinated care for individuals who require more intensive treatment.

Training Description:

I have approximately two years of experience treating individuals with OCD and OCD-spectrum disorders. I am certified in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) through the Virtual General Behavioral Therapy Training Institute of the International OCD Foundation. In addition to formal training, I have engaged in ongoing independent study, including reading multiple books focused on OCD, ERP, and evidence-based treatment approaches. My clinical work emphasizes helping clients reduce compulsions, avoidance, and distress associated with intrusive thoughts while developing greater tolerance for uncertainty and improving daily functioning.

Diversity Statement:

I maintain my cultural competency through continuing education in diversity, required biennially for my state licenses, and annual diversity training throughout my corporate career. I also value meaningful conversations with a diverse group of friends, which allow me to explore different perspectives and deepen my appreciation for others’ lived experiences. Additionally, my longstanding experience as an adjunct professor teaching social work treatment courses has reinforced the importance of understanding how culture, identity, values, and individual differences influence the therapeutic relationship and treatment process. I strive to approach each client with cultural humility, curiosity, respect, and an appreciation for their unique experiences.
