J. Scott Matthews LPC
I provide outpatient treatment for adults, with approximately 75% of my practice currently treating anxiety disorders, OCD and other related spectrum disorders. Over the course of my career, I’ve treated several hundred such clients. Treatment methodology includes various forms of CBT, including I-CBT, ERP, and ACT.
I have a Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University and have treated clients with OCD and related disorders throughout the 27 years I’ve practiced. I have completed the IOCDF’s BTTI training in ERP and have also trained extensively in Inference-based CBT (I-CBT) with its co-founder Frederick Aardema, PhD. I have completed numerous CE credits related to OCD and anxiety disorders treatment, as well as extensive professional reading.
I work with clients from all cultural and religious backgrounds, and I specialize in work with LGBTQ clients. My graduate program at Georgia State University included specific multicultural/diversity training, as did my internship at Positive Impact, Inc., a non-profit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia.
