Narrative of Services:

Are you experiencing:
• intrusive thoughts?
• repetitive behaviors like checking or counting?
• excessive worrying/fearfulness?
• avoidance of certain situations/things?
• difficulty making decisions?
• excessively high standards for self/others?
• hyper-sensitivity to criticism or failure?
• inability to relax?
I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and substance use disorder (SUD). My goal is to help you identify and modify patterns of thought and behavior so that you can live more freely and confidently, not held back by unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, or compulsive behaviors.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

Substance use disorders are a common confounding factor in treating many mental health conditions (OCD, mood disorders, trauma). Recent research supports an integrated dual disorder treatment approach that utilizes multiple evidence-based treatment modalities (stages of change, motivational interviewing, CBT, ACT, relapse prevention) to achieve improved outcomes over treating the conditions separately. If cooccurring substance use and mental health disorders are a part of your journey, I can help you navigate the challenges by utilizing interventions designed to facilitate and maintain recovery.

Training Description:

Certified Clinical Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs Social Worker – National Association of Social Workers / C-CATODSW

Diversity Statement:

My approach to treating OCD is rooted in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP). These treatment strategies help you learn to better tolerate uncertainty while developing the skills needed for managing anxiety and other distressing symptoms. In addition, substance use is a common and unhelpful way of attempting to cope with OCD. I utilize multiple evidence-based SUD treatment strategies (motivational interviewing, ACT, CBT) with a strong focus on relapse prevention for those who need it.
