Wilbur J. Nelson, Jr. PhD

Dr. Nelson has a full time private practice where about 25% of his caseload involves OCD. Dr. Nelson has treated about 200 patients, primarily children and adolescents, with OCD over time.

Dr. Nelson received his PhD in 1978 in Clinical Psychology from the University of Louisville. Program orientation and training were cognitive-behavioral, as were his MA thesis and PhD dissertation. Dr. Nelson has had more than 30 years of clinical experience. He attended the IOCDF Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) in 2003 in Boston, MA. Has has attended the AADA meeting in Boston in 1998, including advanced workshops on mental rituals and scrupulosity. Dr. Nelson has also attended numerous local workshops on anxiety disorders and OCD.
