Dana C. Nevedal, PhD

I completed doctoral training in clinical psychology at Wayne State University, with clinical training at the University of Michigan Spine Program and West Virginia University’s Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry. I completed a fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology at VA Connecticut/Yale Department of Psychiatry. I have received specialized training in ERP through workshops, self-directed study, and supervised clinical experience treating OCD across a range of presentations. I am a graduate of TLC Foundation’s Virtual Professional Training Institute for the treatment of hair pulling and skin picking.

Most of the people I work with present with both an anxiety disorder and a mood disorder. These rarely need separate treatment tracks. I use prescriptive eclecticism within a third-wave CBT framework, incorporating ERP, ACT, Mindfulness, Mindful Self-Compassion, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, DBT-informed skills, Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy for chronic pain, and gut-focused hypnosis for IBS and GI disorders. I am currently completing continuing education in the Unified Protocol. Treatment is individualized based on the evidence base and patient preferences.
