Margaret Nevergoll, LISW-CP

My practice specializes in the treatment of women who have OCD, PTSD, and/or ADHD. Many of these women were previously misdiagnosed with generalized anxiety. Currently, about 40% of my clients meet criteria for OCD.
I work with women diagnosed with or who suspect they have PTSD/trauma, ADHD and OCD. I also have experience working with people who have a substance-use disorder, love someone with a substance use disorder, or are in recovery. I’m a certified EMDR therapist, and use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as Exposure and Response Prevention therapy to inform my practice. I use a strengths-based approach and support clients in fostering their self-compassionate voice.
I’m an LISW-CP and a certified EMDR therapist. I’ve seen clients in private practice for almost 6 years, and have seen clients with OCD on and off throughout that time. More recently, I’ve been intentional about connecting with individuals who have OCD, as I think this is a population who has historically been underserved and misdiagnosed. I am currently pursuing continuing education specifically related to ERP for OCD and hope to one day further my education by attending a BTTI.
I’ve had the privilege of working with people from many walks of life including differing races, genders, abilities, religions, socioeconomic status, and class.
It’s important to note that there are stairs to get to my office. If this is a barrier to treatment, please let me know and I’ll arrange for us to meet in an accessible location or we can meet virtually.
As a clinical social worker, my education trained me to be sensitive to cultural and ethnic diversity as well as promote social justice. In my practice, I consider how environmental and systemic factors affect your overall well-being and mental health. I recognize the importance of cultural humility and am dedicated to ongoing learning, self-reflection, and evolving my practice and perspective to support clients of all backgrounds.
