About 75% of my practice is dedicated to working with individuals with OCD and related disorders. I have been treating clients with OCD for approximately five years, providing evidence-based treatment tailored to each individual’s needs. Methods used include Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT).
I begin by getting to know my clients as whole people – their concerns, values, and goals – including mental health symptoms, current stressors, strengths, support system, and anything else they want me to know. We are able to do the best clinical work when clients feel safe and supported. Then we will work together to clarify and prioritize goals. If there are immediate safety concerns, those will take priority. Next, my clients and I collaborate on treatment planning, taking into account the client’s needs, readiness, and supports. OCD treatment rarely “colors inside the lines” – we often are discussing other goals and concerns along the way. Treatment is not one size fits all. We will create a custom plan that works for you.
My training includes extensive continuing education and specialized workshops focused on OCD and evidence-based treatments, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), ACT, and I-CBT. I have completed training specific to perinatal OCD (OCD related to pregnancy and postpartum). I have trained and consulted with OCD specialists throughout my career as I strive to become the best therapist I can be for my clients.
