Narrative of Services:

Ortiz Psychological Services is a specialty telehealth practice providing evidence-based treatment for OCD and related disorders, including body-focused repetitive behaviors and body dysmorphic disorder, as well as co-occurring anxiety and eating disorders. Approximately 50% of my practice is dedicated to treating OCD and related conditions. I have treated individuals with OCD and related disorders across outpatient and higher levels of care. Treatment is individualized and primarily utilizes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), including in-vivo, imaginal, and interoceptive exposures, with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) strategies incorporated as appropriate.

Training Description:

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized training and experience treating OCD and related disorders. My doctoral training at the University of Kentucky, predoctoral internship at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, and postdoctoral training at the University of Louisville included evidence-based assessment and treatment of OCD, anxiety, and related disorders. My training and clinical practice have included Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), CBT, DBT, and ACT for presentations including contamination, harm, relationship, scrupulosity, “just-right,” BFRB, and somatic/health-related OCD. I continue to pursue advanced training and continuing education in ERP and evidence-based treatment of OCD and related disorders.

Diversity Statement:

My doctoral, internship, and postdoctoral training included education and supervised clinical experience in culturally responsive care with diverse populations across university, academic medical center, and specialty treatment settings. I have worked with individuals across a range of racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, religious and spiritual backgrounds, socioeconomic circumstances, and family structures. I strive to provide culturally responsive, individualized care by considering how identity, culture, values, family systems, and lived experiences intersect with OCD and related concerns and by adapting evidence-based treatment collaboratively to each client’s unique context.
