I work at Lumin Counseling which is a practice that mostly specializes in trauma and relationship issues, but we also have counselors who specialize in OCD and scrupulosity. As a faith-based practice, we have roughly 25 percent of our clients who struggle with religious scrupulosity and we aim to assist them through this issue while respecting their faith tradition.

For therapy and mood disorders I mainly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I also employ Exposure and Response prevention for OCD and anxiety related challenges. Additionally, I utilize behavioral modification strategies and motivational interviewing skills to address ADHD and ASD.

I have treated patients with OCD and OCD Spectrum Disorders for about 3 years. For three months, I did a rotation at UPMC Children’s Hospital’s OCD Intensive Outpatient Program for adolescents and received training and ongoing supervision to utilize Exposure and Response Prevention therapy. Additionally, I have done ongoing CEUs related to OCD and scrupulosity and continually integrate new techniques into practice. I have also shadowed a clinician who did Habit Reversal Training for the management of Tic Disorders.
