Narrative of Services:

I specialize in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including exposure with response prevention (ERP) to treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and related conditions such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Depression, phobias, perfectionism, social anxiety, panic, hypochondriasis, scrupulosity, and OCPD. I worked 26 years (including 21 years as the Director) at a large university counseling center. There, I employed CBT approaches directly with many late adolescent and young adult clients suffering from OCD and related issues. Additionally, I worked part-time for 20 years as a Staff Psychologist at the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington (BTC), a practice that specializes in OCD and OCD-spectrum disorders.

Training Description:

I am a Clinical Psychologist who received my PhD in 1998 from the University of South Carolina. In addition to working with OCD as a therapist and supervisor over my decades in college student mental health, my specialized training in OCD-spectrum disorders came from working at the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington (BTC). There I received regular supervision from the BTC’s Director, in addition to learning from other expert staff members through didactic presentations and case conferences.
