Narrative of Services:

AMK Counseling serves clients from across the lifespan that are experiencing a variety of needs/concerns, including OCD, anxiety-related disorders, BFRBs, and more. All clinicians at this practice are trained in ERP. I also serve parents who need a SPACE-informed treatment approach.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

I use ERP for OCD but also incorporate treatments that address the other primary diagnoses. I collaborate with psychiatrists to assess the impact a medication regimen has on the work we do in the therapy space. I’m also trained in CBIT for Tourettes and tics.

Training Description:

I have extensive training in ERP, I-CBT, and SPACE. I treat clients with OCD and OCD-related disorders. I have been serving this community for the last 7 years and serve as faculty for the BTTI as well as a member of the IOCDF DEI Action Council. I’ve presented as a workshop leader for OCD Kids Camp twice and as a support group speaker for two OCD Cons (SanFran and Chicago).

Diversity Statement:

Over half of my clients are Black or Brown individuals. About 40% of my caseload identifies as low or no-income residents of Illinois who receive sliding scale or scholarship-based therapy services. I work with clients from the queer community and I remain very much LGBTQIA+ affirming. Much of my work focuses on helping destigmatize mental health needs in communities of color and those who have been marginalized.

I’ve taken various trainings on culturally-responsive therapy, as well as clinical supervision trainings that have a heavy focus on cultural competence. As a training/workshop facilitator, I have also led trainings on these topics.
