I offer virtual individual counseling to adults throughout North Carolina. I work with a wide range of ages, identities, backgrounds, and concerns, and focus on OCD, anxiety, and life transitions. Since starting my practice, roughly 75% of my clients have had OCD or related disorders. I treat OCD using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and draw on thousands of hours of training in cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based methods to tailor care to each person’s needs and values. I offer free 20-minute consultations and reserve a quarter of my caseload for sliding scale.
Co-occurring conditions are common in my practice, including depression, PTSD, substance use, ADHD and autism, and other anxiety and OC-spectrum disorders. Treatment structure is individualized: after a thorough assessment, we decide together whether to address conditions concurrently or in sequence, based on symptom severity, safety, and client goals. I adjust the pace of exposure work accordingly and use neuro-affirming adaptations for ADHD and autism. Because I regularly coordinate with prescribers, primary care providers, and other members of the care team, treatment stays cohesive and informed by each person’s full clinical picture.
I have treated OCD and related disorders for more than five years, beginning during my MSW training at North Carolina State University. I have completed post-graduate OCD-specific training and workshops in ERP and ACT. I received long-term consultation from several OCD specialists, including clinicians at Bull City Anxiety & OCD Treatment Center and a psychologist trained at the Anxiety and Stress Disorders Institute of Maryland, one of whom remains my mentor. My practice is also informed by the work of leading OCD clinicians, including members of the IOCDF Scientific Advisory Board, and I am an IOCDF Professional Member.
My MSW training at NC State was grounded in social justice, and I was a HRSA B-WISE Scholar, a fellowship preparing graduate students to deliver integrated behavioral health care to underserved communities. I have worked with diverse populations, including patients with chronic pain at Duke University Hospital and forensic patients at Central Regional Hospital. I volunteered as a crisis counselor and with a sexual violence prevention organization. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, anti-racist, neuro-affirming, and body-inclusive, and I offer pay-what-you-can gender-affirming care letters. My goal is for clients of all backgrounds to feel safe, seen, and understood.
