Narrative of Services:

I offer teletherapy services. Based on the client and their needs, I will often utilize several modalities including ACT, DBT, CBT, EMDR. as well as HRT and ComB. More than 80% of my clients experience some form of OCD and under 10% have disclosed experiencing a BFRB.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

The treatment structure that I utilize is person centered and eclectic. I will take all symptoms and diagnoses into account and meet the individual where they are at. If the client works better with evidence based approaches, I will incorporate those modalities more frequently. I have personally found, that due to lack of awareness and such a prevalent symptom of shame and embarrassment being present with individuals who experience BFRB’s, building rapport and a sense of understanding is paramount.

Training Description:

Much of my experience has been working hands on within a group home for those who have dual diagnoses, residential treatment centers, mobile mental health crisis teams, medicaid service coordination, as well as being in private practice for over 10 years, including starting my own practice less than a year ago.

Diversity Statement:

I have worked with all different cultures, races, and demographics that have provided me with experiences that are unmeasured and cannot be replicated throughout certain training. I believe that those experiences have stuck with me and have helped me to serve multicultural populations in a way that I would have not done otherwise.

Outside of the previous positions that I have held, I continue to keep up with training yearly to stay updated and exposed to different populations. I have found that my previous experiences have exposed me to different populations in a real, hands-on way that training cannot emulate. However, keeping up with the training has kept me up to date and reminded of the ethics surrounding how to properly serve diverse populations.
