Brooke M. Smith PhD
Dr. Smith offers services to clients with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and trauma-related issues. She has experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities. She is licensed in Nevada, Oregon, Hawaii, and Michigan, and can provide telehealth services to clients in 40 other states through PSYPACT (see map: https://psypact.org/mpage/psypactmap).
Dr. Smith is a licensed psychologist specializing in anxiety, trauma, and obsessive-compulsive and related issues. She gained expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and OCD through training at the University of Nevada, Reno and Utah State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from USU and completed her internship at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, American Lake. Formerly an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at Western Michigan University, she taught and conducted research before transitioning to private practice. Dr. Smith has been treating clients with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive and related issues since 2013.
Dr. Smith is dedicated to promoting equity and justice both professionally and personally. She has a great deal of experience working with clients of color, clients of various religious backgrounds (including LDS), those who identify with the LGBTQIA+ community, Veterans, and college students.
Dr. Smith has participated in many trainings and workshops on diversity, equity, and inclusion and developed and taught an undergraduate course on the topic at Western Michigan University. She is committed to advancing understanding and action around these important issues.
