Jami Socha PhD
Clinical Psychologist
As an anxiety specialist, 100% of my practice is focused on treating individuals with OCD and anxiety disorders. I provide individual outpatient therapy to children and adults, and regularly incorporate family-based treatment for OCD/anxiety. I also provide parent-only treatment focused on helping caregivers reduce accommodating behaviors that serve to maintain OCD symptoms in their child.
I employ evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. I am passionate about helping individuals learn to apply exposure therapy principles, as they learn to manage their symptoms and recognize the value of facing what they fear.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Michigan, and have over 10 years of experience providing CBT/ERP for OCD and related disorders. I received my doctoral degree from Rosalind Franklin University where my research focused on understanding cognitive mechanisms underlying OCD. I completed my internship and post-doctoral clinical training at the University of Michigan, where I continued to receive specialized training in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP). I have attended the IOCDF Pediatric BTTI, as well as training in the SPACE treatment protocol (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions).
