Narrative of Services:

I am a warm, affirming psychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology (University of Miami). I provide evidence-based therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, OCD, depression, and related concerns. For specialized training in ERP, a gold-standard OCD treatment, I completed the International OCD Foundation’s BTTI with Dr. Eric Storch, a leading OCD expert. I help clients reduce OCD’s interference in their lives and build confidence in navigating future challenges. My work is informed by my SPACE certification with Dr. Eli Lebowitz: this approach is designed to reduce parenting behaviors that reinforce children’s anxiety and OCD.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

I use ACT and CBT primarily to treat co-occuring disorders.

Training Description:

I am currently in private practice, where I use carefully considered treatment approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT, and ERP where indicated. Prior, for 18 years, I led the Pediatric Psychology Service (Miller School of Medicine), serving children through young adults with cancer and/or blood disorders. Before that, I directed psychological services in a long-term psychiatric residential program for children and teens with severe mental health difficulties. I completed internship training in community mental health in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood, then pediatric postdoctoral training, at the Miller School of Medicine, working with mothers and their children.

Diversity Statement:

I emigrated from Jamaica to the United States at age 17. Living in both Jamaica and America has deepened my understanding of the complexity of people’s identities. I have a deep well of experience working with clients from various cultural, socioeconomic, racial, sexual orientation, and faith and spiritual backgrounds. I seek to understand how each client identifies, which aspects of their identity and lived experience are most meaningful to them, and how these factors may relate to their concerns. I collaborate with each client to tailor treatment to their individual needs.
