Narrative of Services:
My practice specializes in pediatric and adult OCD, with approximately 80% of my caseload focused on OCD and related disorders. I provide evidence-based treatment using exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD and prolonged exposure for co-occurring PTSD. I also support individuals experiencing depression and anxiety, with particular expertise in helping expatriates living abroad navigate these conditions. Over my career, I have treated hundreds of individuals with OCD, tailoring structured, skills-based interventions to reduce symptoms and improve daily functioning while providing a supportive, collaborative therapeutic environment.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
I provide treatment for OCD, PTSD, and depression, often addressing co-occurring anxiety or trauma-related disorders. Treatment begins with the disorder causing the most distress—using cognitive-behavioral therapy and exposure and response prevention (ERP). Once symptoms are manageable, we address the next presenting disorder. Weekly sessions are structured to build skills, coping strategies, and emotion regulation, supporting symptom reduction and overall well-being, with family or caregiver involvement when appropriate.
Training Description:
I have worked as a therapist for over 7 years, specializing in treating pediatric & adult OCD for the past 5 years. My experience includes school settings, private practice, and 4 years abroad in Switzerland supporting expatriates and international families. I provide ERP as my primary intervention and completed the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) in 2024. I also participate in ongoing workshops through the National Association of Social Worker and regularly attend an OCD consultation group with ERP specialists to maintain and deepen my expertise.
Diversity Statement:
While working as a therapist in Switzerland for four years, I served a diverse international population, including clients from European, Asian, and Middle Eastern backgrounds. This experience strengthened my ability to tailor evidence-based treatments, including ERP and prolonged exposure, to respect varied cultural values and family dynamics. I developed skills in cross-cultural communication and supporting families navigating mental health challenges in an international context, fostering accessibility, inclusivity, and culturally sensitive care.
I have extensive experience working with diverse populations, including expatriates and international families from European, Asian, and Middle Eastern backgrounds. My training includes workshops through the National Association of Social Workers on cultural humility, inclusive practice, and the person-in-environment framework. I adapt evidence-based treatments, such as ERP and prolonged exposure, to respect cultural values and family dynamics. Additionally, I regularly consult with colleagues and participate in professional groups to enhance my understanding of client-centered interventions.
Treatment Groups:
I run a Family Support Group for relatives of loved ones living with OCD. The group provides education, coping strategies, and guidance on reducing accommodation behaviors to foster healthier family dynamics.
