The Hudson Valley Center for Cognitive Therapy (HVCCT), established in 2001, is a specialty practice of doctoral-level psychologists providing evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). A major focus of our practice is treating children, adolescents, and adults with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). We address intrusive thoughts, compulsions, mental rituals, reassurance seeking, and avoidance. We also treat related conditions, including body dysmorphic disorder, trichotillomania, and skin picking, using specialized interventions, such as Habit Reversal Training (HRT). Our Center offers in-person therapy in Nyack, NY, and telehealth in additional states through psychologists authorized to practice in those locations.
Our psychologists provide evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for individuals experiencing OCD alongside other conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and tic disorders. We also address related concerns such as insomnia and behavioral difficulties. Therapy is individualized based on each patient’s needs and may incorporate Exposure and Response prevention (ERP), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), and other CBT interventions. Our approach focuses on reducing symptoms, improving daily functioning, and developing practical skills for lasting change.
I am a licensed psychologist and founder of the Hudson Valley Center for Cognitive Therapy, with clinical experience dating back to 1998. My training includes two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Cognitive Therapy at the Center for Cognitive Therapy at the University of Pennsylvania. I am a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, a professional organization recognizing advanced competence in CBT. My clinical work includes extensive experience treating OCD and related anxiety disorders using evidence-based cognitive behavioral interventions, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Habit Reversal Training (HRT).
At the Hudson Valley Center for Cognitive Therapy, we welcome individuals from diverse cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Our psychologists work with children, adolescents, and adults and strive to provide individualized, respectful, evidence-based care that considers each person’s unique background, experiences, and circumstances.
