Narrative of Services:
I completed the IOCDF’s BTTI training in 2008 and have treated individuals with OCD and related disorders since 2004. My broader practice also includes treatment for anxiety, trauma, relational concerns, chronic illness, and life transitions. OCD and anxiety remain a consistent part of my caseload. I draw on ERP, CBT, Inference-Based CBT, EMDR, and mindfulness-based approaches to provide individualized care. I remain current in best practices through continuing education and a monthly peer consultation group.
Training Description:
I have treated individuals with OCD and related disorders since 2004. In 2008, I completed the IOCDF’s BTTI training, followed by individual consultation calls to deepen my ERP skills. Over the years, I have expanded my training through workshops, continuing education, and monthly peer consultation. My approach integrates ERP, CBT, Inference-Based CBT, EMDR, and mindfulness, reflecting both formal training and an ongoing commitment to best practices in OCD treatment.
Diversity Statement:
I hold a B.A. in Anthropology, a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with a strong multicultural focus from NYU. My career in diverse urban communities such as New York City, Boston, and Baltimore has included supporting individuals with physical and neurological disabilities, as well as clients from varied racial, cultural, religious, and LGBTQ+ backgrounds. I strive to provide openness, sensitivity, and an affirming stance within evidence-based care for OCD, trauma, and anxiety-related concerns.
My academic and professional background has emphasized cultural competency from the outset. At NYU, my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology included a strong multicultural training foundation. My B.A. in Anthropology deepened my understanding of cultural context, and my Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling prepared me to work with individuals with physical and neurological disabilities. In practice, across New York City, Boston, and Baltimore, I have gained extensive experience with diverse racial, cultural, religious, and LGBTQ+ populations, grounding my work in cultural humility and affirming care.
