Narrative of Services:

Dr. Dangaltcheva is a licensed psychologist (#02482) who provides therapy for youth (age 10 to 25) and their families. She uses evidence-based approaches (e.g., CBT, ERP, DBT skills) to treat depression, anxiety, OCD, and trauma. She also supports young people who are exploring their gender identity and provides therapy to families to help find new ways to support and connect with their teens.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

My primary approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). However, given the complexity of client concerns and presentations, I also incorporate Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) strategies and drawn on my background in attachment research to inform my practice.

Training Description:

During my graduate training, I completed a practicum in the OCD clinic at BC Children’s Hospital, where I was trained to assess and treat OCD. Subsequently, I trained at the Vancouver CBT Centre and primarily worked with youth who presented with anxiety and OCD. More recently, in October 2025, I attended the IOCDF Advanced Pediatric training in Long Beach.

Diversity Statement:

My graduate research was an adaptation of an attachment-based program for caregivers of trans youth and I am currently involved in training and supervision of new groups. I have completed the Global Education Initiative through the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and I continue to work with young people who are exploring their gender.
I also strive to be neuroaffirming in my treatment approach and have sought out additional training and consultation because many of my clients present with other neurodiversities.
