This number fluctuates but I would estimate about 20% of my current caseload is experiencing clinical OCD. I have been treating OCD since my very first practicum at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver in 2014. I opened up my private practice in 2019 and have likely seen 50 to 100 patients with OCD since.
Often clients are referred for anxiety, but upon meeting with them, it is clear that they experience anxiety (generalized, social, separation) and OCD. I use CBT for anxiety and ERPs for OCD.
I completed a practicum in the OCD clinic at BC Children’s in 2014. I was trained to assess and treat OCD, in the structured summer intensive program that they offered for adolescents. In 2016-2017, I completed a year practicum at Vancouver CBT Centre, where I saw clients with Anxiety and OCD, and was supervised by a psychologist who has completed the BTTI training. Currently, several of the psychologists in my consultation group are BTTI trained and listed in your directory. Upon their recommendation, I completed the Advanced Pediatric training in Long Beach, which was a good fit for my practice.
My graduate research was an adaptation of an attachment based program for caregivers of trans youth. I have completed the Global Education Initiative through the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. Many of my clients identify as LBTQIS.
