Novo Behavioral Health is a Minnesota-based group practice founded in 2020 with a mission of providing highly specialized, evidence-based mental health care. While we treat a range of concerns, our practice has developed particular expertise in the assessment and treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety-related disorders, and has become a referral destination for individuals seeking specialty care.
Our multidisciplinary team includes licensed psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, and licensed professional clinical counselors who collaborate closely and share a commitment to evidence-based treatment. Clinicians regularly consult with one another on complex cases, creating a supportive environment that promotes professional growth and high-quality client care.
Our providers are trained in and utilize evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills and mindfulness-based interventions, and rumination-focused approaches for anxiety and OCD.
A key aspect of our practice is our commitment to individualized treatment intensity. While many clients participate in traditional weekly therapy, we also provide more concentrated treatment when clinically indicated, including meeting with clients two to three times per week to support progress in complex or severe cases.
At Novo, we emphasize specialty expertise, collaboration, ongoing consultation, and adherence to evidence-based practices, allowing clinicians to deepen their skills while helping clients achieve meaningful and lasting change.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
At Novo Behavioral Health, OCD treatment is grounded in evidence-based care and tailored to each client’s unique symptom presentation. Treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment including the YBOCS or CYBOCS, intensive psychoeducation about OCD and core fear, and collaborative case conceptualization. Clinicians utilize Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based interventions, and other cognitive-behavioral approaches to address obsessive fears, uncertainty, avoidance, rumination, and both behavioral and mental compulsions. A strong emphasis is placed on helping clients recognize and disengage from unhelpful thinking patterns while building tolerance for uncertainty. Treatment includes structured exposure practice both in and outside of sessions, with more intensive treatment options available, including multiple sessions per week when clinically indicated.
Diversity Statement:
Our clinic is committed to providing an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for all clients and families. We strive to deliver culturally responsive care that honors each individual’s unique background, identity, values, and lived experiences.
Our clinicians have experience working with individuals and families from a variety of cultural, racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and family backgrounds. Providers participate in ongoing education and training related to cultural competency, inclusivity, and trauma-informed care, and we strive to provide a respectful and supportive environment for all clients.
