Narrative of Services:

Our practice specializes in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults with anxiety and related disorders. Approximately 60% of our practice presents with OCD or another related anxiety disorder. I have treated OCD and anxiety disorders in my clinical practice for over 10 years, providing evidence-based, individualized care to clients and families. Our services include comprehensive assessment, individual therapy, parent support and coaching, exposure and response prevention (ERP), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and coordination with other providers when appropriate. We also treat co-occurring conditions, including ADHD, mood disorders, tic/Tourette disorders, and autism spectrum disorder.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

I provide evidence-based, individualized treatment for OCD and co-occurring conditions, including ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, tic/Tourette disorders, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment to understand the client’s presenting concerns, diagnoses, strengths, and functional needs. I develop an integrated treatment plan that addresses OCD while considering how co-occurring symptoms may impact treatment. Interventions may include CBT, exposure and response prevention (ERP), DBT-informed strategies, behavioral interventions, parent involvement, and coordination with other providers when appropriate. Treatment is regularly monitored and adjusted based on progress, clinical needs, and client and family goals.

Training Description:

I have over 10 years of clinical experience treating OCD and related anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. I received specialized training in evidence-based treatment for OCD and anxiety while working within the Anxiety and OCD Clinic in the Outpatient Psychiatry Department at Rady Children’s Hospital. During this time, I received training and clinical experience in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with a particular focus on the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders in children and teens. This experience has informed my ongoing clinical practice and commitment to providing evidence-based, individualized treatment for OCD.

Diversity Statement:

I am the owner of La Jolla Therapy Center, a group practice serving a diverse population of children, adolescents, and families. All members of our clinical team are trained in the assessment and treatment of OCD and related anxiety disorders. Our therapists represent diverse cultural backgrounds, including bicultural clinicians, and several are fluent in Mandarin, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, and Hebrew. We strive to provide culturally responsive, individualized care that considers each client’s cultural background, family values, identity, and unique experiences. Our diverse team allows us to better meet the needs of families from a wide range of backgrounds.

I have over a decade of experience working with diverse children, adolescents, and families across a wide range of cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. As the owner of La Jolla Therapy Center, I lead a diverse team of clinicians who bring varied cultural perspectives to their clinical work. I have completed continuing education focused on cultural competency and culturally responsive practice. I am also married to a first-generation refugee and we are raising our son in a bicultural home, which has provided meaningful personal experience navigating and appreciating diverse perspectives. I approach each client with cultural humility, curiosity, and respect.
