Becoming You Psychotherapy Center, Inc. opened in February 2023 with a mission to provide accessible, evidence-based, and culturally responsive care, with a strong specialization in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety-related conditions. Our clinic serves children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across South Texas and through telehealth throughout Texas.
Our multidisciplinary team includes licensed clinicians and associates trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), EMDR, CBT, and integrative approaches such as LENS neurofeedback. All clinicians working with OCD receive ongoing training and consultation to ensure treatment aligns with best-practice standards while remaining individualized and compassionate.
What sets Becoming You apart is our integrative, brain-based, and trauma-informed approach to OCD treatment. We recognize that OCD rarely exists in isolation and often intersects with trauma, attachment wounds, and chronic stress. Treatment focuses on helping clients reduce compulsions, tolerate uncertainty, and change their relationship with intrusive thoughts—without reinforcing fear or avoidance. When clinically appropriate, ERP is thoughtfully combined with neurofeedback or trauma-focused interventions to support nervous system regulation and treatment engagement.
We provide outpatient services, including individual therapy, family-based OCD treatment, and collaboration with schools, psychiatrists, and other providers. Family education and reduction of accommodation are core components of care, especially for pediatric and adolescent clients.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
Our treatment structure for co-occurring disorders is integrated and individualized, addressing anxiety, trauma, and substance use simultaneously rather than sequentially. We prioritize stabilization and safety while reducing anxiety-driven behaviors through evidence-based interventions such as CBT and ERP. Trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR and nervous-system regulation strategies, are introduced when appropriate to avoid symptom exacerbation. Substance use is addressed through harm-reduction and coping-skills development. Care is coordinated across disciplines, with ongoing assessment to ensure treatment remains responsive, ethical, and supportive of long-term recovery.
Diversity Statement:
At Becoming You Psychotherapy Center, our mission is rooted in providing culturally responsive, inclusive, and accessible mental health care. We honor each client’s cultural background, language, values, and lived experiences as essential components of healing. Our practice serves diverse and often underserved communities, including bilingual and Spanish-speaking clients, and we intentionally adapt evidence-based treatments such as ERP to be culturally attuned and collaborative. We are committed to reducing barriers to care, practicing with humility, and creating a safe, affirming space where all individuals and families feel respected, understood, and empowered in their treatment journey.
Clinicians at Becoming You Psychotherapy Center receive ongoing education and training in cultural competency, humility, and ethical practice with diverse populations. Our team has experience working with Hispanic/Latinx, immigrant, low-socioeconomic, and underserved communities, including clients utilizing public insurance and sliding-scale services. Several clinicians are bilingual (English/Spanish) and incorporate culturally responsive adaptations into evidence-based treatments such as ERP, CBT, and trauma-informed care. Training, supervision, and consultation emphasize awareness of systemic factors, family roles, and cultural values to ensure treatment is respectful, accessible, and clinically effective across diverse backgrounds.
Becoming You Psychotherapy Center primarily serves a South Texas community with a predominantly Hispanic/Latinx population, many of whom are low socioeconomic and insured through Medicaid or other public plans, with limited private-pay access. In addition to our in-person South Texas location, we maintain a virtual office in Austin, Texas, allowing us to provide care statewide via telehealth. This expanded reach enables us to serve a diverse population across Texas, including urban and rural communities. Many clients are referred through schools, nonprofits, and community partnerships, and we offer bilingual services, sliding-scale options, and culturally responsive care while maintaining fidelity to evidence-based practices such as ERP.
