McLean Adolescent Anxiety Mastery Program
The program opened on the Belmont Campus at McLean Hospital in November 2013 and then at our current satellite location in Cambridge in April 2014. We have one full-time psychologist, two part-time psychologists, two part-time psychiatrists, eight clinical trainees, and two assessment trainees. Our program plans to expand in the fall of 2015.
Our program provides comprehensive assessment and treatment that focuses not only on the child but also on all of the systems involved in the child’s daily life. We make sure that all involved party members are included in the process, and we provide regular updates to the outpatient team and school staff members when applicable. In addition, relevant family dynamics are addressed, and we include interventions for comorbid diagnoses (e.g., depression) whenever possible and indicated. We also make sure that a cohesive treatment plan is in place before a child is discharged from the program (e.g., provide referrals and make sure that they are set up prior to discharge). We offer a taper plan to facilitate the transition from our care to other providers’ care.
