Practice San Francisco
- LGBTQIA+ Affirming
Practice San Francisco provides evidence-based psychotherapy for children, teens, college students, young adults, and parents. Our providers use cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment, and/or ERP approaches to provide high quality, highly effective care; all providers have completed in-depth training in the the Yale University Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) approach and support parents in reducing accommodation and strengthening their child/teen’s resilience in the face of anxiety provoking situations. We offer psychological assessment, small skills groups for children, tweens, and teens, and parenting support. We have offices in San Francisco and Marin and can serve clients located anywhere in the state of California by telehealth (as well as clients in New York and Rhode Island).
We believe that kids and teens are part of a system, and integrate parents into treatment of minor child and adolescent clients in order to facilitate clients’ ability to practice and extend skills to the real world. We partner with schools, pediatricians, and allied professionals as needed in order to provide highest quality support for families across the environments in which they operate. We know that managing anxiety and OCD is challenging– and we know that we have the tools to help make things easier!
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
Our clinicians are trained in evidence-based behavioral parenting/parent management approaches for child/adolescent ADD/ADHD. We use a combination of CBT, ERP, and SPACE for anxiety disorders, varying somewhat depending on presenting concerns. For depression, we use CBT and behavioral activation strategies. We have clinicians trained in FBT for eating disorders. We do not treat primary autism spectrum disorders (we do not have ABA providers on staff), but we can work with patients with primary anxiety and ASD as a co-occurring condition using and adapting EBTs as appropriate.
Diversity Statement:
We are dedicated to supporting the mental health of children, teens, young adults and parents through collaborative, respectful care that is tailored to each individual and family system and grounded in compassion, inclusivity, and a deep respect for diversity.
We welcome clients and staff of all backgrounds, cultures, identities, and experiences. We see diversity as a strength. We are actively working to reflect the richness of the communities we serve—within our team, our services, and our relationships. We’re committed to ongoing education, self-reflection, and open dialogue. We hold ourselves accountable to grow—individually and as a practice.
All clinicians participate in California-mandated ongoing continuing education focused on cultural competency and working with diverse populations with each licensure renewal cycle. We also regularly engage in 1-4 sessions of internal professional development as a team with this focus; in 2026, we completed internal training relevant to cultural compency in CPS reporting. In 2025, we participated in four sessions of PD on anti-racism in the therapy room and in our staff culture. In 2024, we brought in a LGBTQ+ specialist to work with us around supporting families with gay/trans children or teens.
