- BTTI Trained
The Canadian Treatment Center for Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (CTCOCD, www.ctcocd.ca) led by Dr. Sookman is the national highly specialized treatment center for OCD and related disorders throughout the lifespan (children, adolescents, and adults). Specialized treatment is available to Canadians from multiple provinces and regions, as well as to international residents. CTCOCD programs are tailored for patients whose symptoms and related difficulties range from very mild and newly developed to very severe and longstanding. The psychotherapeutic evidence-based treatment for OCD and related disorders is specialized cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), informed by cutting-edge research and developmentally adapted for each person. Highly specialized CTCOCD services offered to optimize recovery include weekly office- based sessions; intensive treatment programs for local and out of town patients with a team of experts as needed (e.g., prolonged sessions several times weekly or daily); therapist assisted home based treatment; strategies for generalization of improvement, relapse prevention, and resilience; and booster sessions. Telehealth sessions are offered. Psychiatric and pharmacological consultation and treatment are available with experienced staff psychiatrists (through referral) with collaborative care as indicated. Treatment is not time-limited and services are bilingual.
