Description:

The Concord Center was founded by Dr. Jamie Micco and Dr. Ben Banister in 2019 with the goal of providing quality mental health care, grounded in empirical research, for people across the lifespan. As such, our clinic offers a wide range of evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Supportive Parenting of Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The treatments we offer are tailored to help individuals struggling with anxiety/anxiety-related disorders, OCD, depression/mood-related disorders, interpersonal challenges, personality disorders, and more.

The Concord Center provides training in empirically supported treatments for pre-licensed clinicians, including doctoral students, social work trainees, and post-doctoral fellows.

Our services include outpatient therapy (in-person or teletherapy), parent coaching, group therapy, and an accelerated outpatient program for OCD and anxiety disorders. Exposure coaching is offered in the office and in the community to bolster CBT/ERP treatment. The Concord Center also offers medical consultation services with a board-certified psychiatrist.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

We see a broad range of disorders beyond OCD/anxiety disorders, including depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, and more. We recognize that many people struggling with anxiety and/or OCD are also presenting with other symptoms. However, we are thoughtful in assessing these symptoms to determine if they are currently interfering with anxiety/ OCD treatment. We do not rule out suicidality or self-harm urges or behaviors. However, we do not treat primary psychosis or substance use disorders.

Diversity Statement:

All clinicians complete required ongoing cultural competency and anti-racism trainings, in accordance with their licensing requirements. In addition, we host a weekly seminar, and topics related to cultural competency are included. Further, we have an outreach team that has made connections with schools in the Metrowest Boston area to provide workshops and in-services to students, teachers, and administrators; we also offer free parent workshops once per month that we advertise widely. In this way, we hope to provide evidence-based information to a wider audience.

The Metrowest Boston area, which includes Concord, MA, is predominately White and Asian-American, and our clinic’s clients reflect this demographic. A significant minority of our patients (approximately 20%) identify as LGBTQ+, including many who identify as non-binary or trans.
