When: Wednesday 10/7 at 730 pm

Where: The Lyric Hyperion, 2106 Hyperion Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027

About the show:
Using a mix of stand-up and storytelling, Ballet Flats for Dinner tells the story of Bridget McGuire’s life growing up with intrusive thoughts with harm, a form of OCD. From thinking she was pregnant at age 11, to wondering if she killed her friend’s boyfriend at 25, to finally getting help at the ripe old age of 38, Ballet Flats will have you laughing the entire time and perhaps you’ll walk away wondering, “Do I have OCD too?” (Don’t worry, you probably don’t)

Actor Peter Hermann (Younger, Law & Order: SVU) said, “The first time I heard Bridget tell the Ballet Flats for Dinner story, I howled with laughter. And cringed. And wanted more. Her show is a flat-out delight, not only because wow, it’s just so good to laugh, but because of how light her touch is in sharing a part of her life that involves a good share of difficulty. Bridget is down-to-earth, irreverent, hugely generous with her honesty, and just so dang funny. Five stars, thumbs up, like and subscribe, would definitely see again etc!!!”

Good Housekeeping Editor, Eva Bleyer, said, “Moving, relatable and wildly funny. You can feel how much heart she poured into it. I highly recommend seeing it” (Eva Bleyer, Good Housekeeping editor).

Patrick B McGrath, Ph.D., Chief Clinical Officer, for NOCD, said, “you will laugh, you may cry, and you will definitely be a better person after you see it. As someone who has treated OCD for over 25 years, I can highly recommend this show as both an amazing piece of comedy as well as an excellent challenge to stigma and misinformation about OCD.”

Dr. Michael Wheaton, Assistant Professor of Psychology, Barnard College, said “Bridget is a hilarious comedian and storyteller who expresses her personal experience in a way that really helps the audience to understand what it is like to have OCD and how treatment can help. She finds a way to turn the irrational nature of some OCD symptoms into an irreverent comedy show, that is both deeply funny and touching.”
