"The Anxiety Treatment Center of Austin is pleased to welcome two new postdoctoral fellows to our clinical team, Dr. Olivia Borglin and Dr. Jesse Arvizu.
Both fellows have completed their doctoral training in clinical psychology and are now completing advanced supervised training at ATCA while working toward licensure in Texas. Their work at ATCA focuses on evidence-based treatment for anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma, and related concerns, with particular emphasis on cognitive-behavioral and exposure-based approaches.
Dr. Arvizu earned his doctorate from Adler University following seven years of service in the U.S. Navy. He completed his doctoral internship at the VA North Texas Health Care System, where he trained in inpatient psychiatry, residential treatment, specialized trauma care, and general outpatient services. His prior experience also includes work in K–12 schools, college counseling centers, community mental health settings, and with first responders. At ATCA, he is continuing to develop advanced expertise in exposure-based treatment for anxiety and OCD.
Dr. Borglin earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University and completed her doctoral internship at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital. Her clinical approach integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and self-compassion within a strong collaborative therapeutic relationship. She works with adults experiencing a wide range of anxiety-related concerns, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, panic, specific phobias, OCD, and PTSD, and is also deepening her training in exposure-based treatment for anxiety and OCD.
We are excited to have both fellows join ATCA and to continue expanding our capacity to provide specialized, evidence-based care for individuals with OCD, anxiety disorders, and related conditions.
We are also pleased to welcome Kate Metcalfe, M.A., a new practicum student from the University of Texas at Austin, where she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and previously earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.
Over the past three years, she has provided individual therapy and psychological assessment through UT’s Psychology Training Clinic, working with clients experiencing social anxiety, generalized anxiety, OCD, panic disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, depression, health anxiety, perfectionism, and interpersonal concerns.
Her clinical approach is compassionate, individualized, and goal-directed, drawing primarily from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based practices. She is particularly interested in helping clients better understand patterns that maintain anxiety and develop more effective ways of responding to difficult thoughts, emotions, and avoided situations.
In addition to her clinical work, she conducts research focused on intimate relationships and sexual health, with particular attention to the impact of menopause. Her work has been published and presented at international conferences.
At ATCA, she is continuing to build specialized experience in the assessment and treatment of anxiety, OCD, and related concerns."

Behavioral Sciences of Alabama Announces New Teen Anxiety and Adult OCD Groups
Behavioral Sciences of Alabama, Inc. (BSoAL) is pleased to announce two upcoming group therapy opportunities for individuals and families seeking support for anxiety and OCD in the Huntsville, Alabama community.
Beginning in September 2026, our practice will offer a Teen Anxiety Group, followed by a new Adult OCD Group beginning in mid-September. Both groups provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where participants can build practical skills, increase understanding, and connect with others experiencing similar challenges.
Teen Anxiety Group
Our Teen Anxiety Group will provide adolescents with a supportive space to better understand anxiety and develop healthy strategies for managing it.
Participants will have opportunities to:
Understand how anxiety affects thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
Develop practical coping and emotion-regulation skills
Identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns
Build confidence in managing anxiety-provoking situations
Connect with peers in a supportive environment
Adolescence can be a challenging time, with academic pressures, friendships, family relationships, social expectations, and developmental changes contributing to increased anxiety. Group therapy can help teens recognize that they are not alone while providing opportunities to learn and practice new skills.
New Adult OCD Group
In mid-September 2026, Behavioral Sciences of Alabama will launch a new Adult OCD Group for adults living with OCD who are interested in education, skill development, support, and connection with others who understand the challenges of OCD.
The group will focus on understanding OCD and the OCD cycle while helping participants develop practical strategies for responding to intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and uncertainty.
Participants will have opportunities to:
Learn about OCD and patterns that can maintain the OCD cycle
Develop evidence-informed coping strategies
Build confidence in responding differently to intrusive thoughts and anxiety
Reduce shame and isolation through connection with others
Strengthen skills that support progress outside of group
Meet the Facilitators
The groups will be facilitated by members of the Behavioral Sciences of Alabama team:
Lizzbeth Rodriguez-Amaro, ALC brings a compassionate and supportive approach to individuals experiencing anxiety and related concerns.
David L. Barnhart, Jr., Ph.D., LPC brings extensive clinical experience and a commitment to meaningful group programming.
Jenny Auer, Counseling Intern is completing her clinical training and has a particular interest in anxiety and OCD-related concerns. She practices under clinical supervision.
Together, the facilitators are committed to creating group experiences centered on compassion, education, practical skill development, and connection.
At Behavioral Sciences of Alabama, we believe individuals experiencing anxiety and OCD should not have to navigate these challenges alone. We are excited to expand our group programming this fall and provide opportunities for teens and adults to find support and develop skills that promote greater confidence and well-being.

In January 2026, the Child Mind Institute launched the Bubrick Center for Pediatric OCD, a dedicated center focused on expanding access to life-changing, evidence-based care for children and families affected by obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related disorders.
The Bubrick Center is dedicated to delivering gold-standard treatment, advancing clinical innovation in pediatric OCD care, and training the next generation of OCD specialists. It is named in honor of our esteemed colleague, the late Dr. Jerry Bubrick, whose work transformed the lives of countless children and families.
As part of this exciting new chapter, we are thrilled to have the following leadership in place:
Theresa Welles, PhD, Shapiro Family Director, Bubrick Center for Pediatric OCD
A nationally recognized clinician with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Welles specializes in treating OCD, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders. Her expertise and leadership will help drive the center's mission to deliver exceptional care and expand access to effective treatment.
Alnardo Martinez, LMHC, Director, Pediatric OCD Intensive Service, Bubrick Center for Pediatric OCD
Alnardo brings extensive experience in evidence-based treatment and clinical leadership, helping children and families make meaningful progress through specialized, intensive care.
We're also excited to welcome Cruz Vernon as a behavioral technician helping provide exposure and response prevention (ERP) to the families we serve. The Child Mind Institute’s OCD Service specializes in comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and individualized treatment using cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and ERP, the most effective evidence-based treatments for OCD. For children experiencing significant impairment, our Intensive OCD Program offers a concentrated treatment model‚ condensing care that typically occurs weekly over several months into daily three-hour sessions over 1–4 weeks‚ helping families see meaningful progress in a shorter period of time.
We welcome families from the New York City area and beyond. Parents and caregivers are involved at every stage of treatment, services are available in English and Spanish, and financial aid is available to help families access care.
We are proud to expand our commitment to children and families impacted by OCD and look forward to the important work ahead.

At Hopewell, we continue to offer Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) groups multiple times each week. Our OCD programming is complemented by supportive therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), ACT Art Group, and Resilience Lab, where residents develop additional skills to support them in the challenging and courageous work of ERP.
This year, Hopewell’s ERP therapists and providers have taken their work beyond our campus to expand OCD education, increase awareness of effective treatment, and support individuals with lived experience and their support systems. Earlier this year, Hopewell’s OCD program was represented on the panel at the OCD Screening Event at Kent State University, featuring the documentary Living With Me and My OCD. The screening was followed by an engaging panel discussion focused on the documentary, OCD resources, treatment, and questions from attendees.
On October 6 2026, Hopewell will host its annual Exploring Mental Health Series. This year’s event, Beyond Worry, Beyond Rituals: Understanding Anxiety and OCD in Adolescents and Young Adults, will feature several OCD and anxiety providers and offer professionals and community members an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussion about OCD and anxiety.
In November 2026, two of Hopewell’s ERP therapists will present at the All Ohio Counselors Conference. Their presentation will focus on the assessment and treatment of OCD while providing counselors with practical tools and resources they can take back to their work with clients.
We are excited to continue expanding OCD education, awareness, and support both at Hopewell and throughout our community.

As we move through back-to-school season, it feels fitting that the Kansas City Center for Anxiety Treatment, P.A. shares an update centered on training the next generation of OCD providers.
This past year has been all about training. In late 2025, KCCAT welcomed two new Clinical Associates to our Training Track: Lugeine Alshurafa, MA, and Meghan Dillon, MS, who are gaining in-depth supervised experience treating OCD and related conditions as they work toward independent clinical licensure.
We're also kicking off the 2026–2027 academic year with a full practicum roster. Joanne Jung (University of Missouri–Kansas City) is extending her practicum through the end of 2026, and this August we welcomed two new practicum students: Ainsley Patrick from the University of Kansas Child Clinical Psychology Program and Kassy Gray from the University of Kansas Clinical Psychology Program.
Beyond the excitement of seeing new clinicians build their skills in this specialty, this pipeline lets us extend reduced-rate services to the OCD community through the work of our clinicians-in-training — a meaningful way to widen access to specialty care in the Kansas City metro.
Speaking of our KC community — we can't wait to see you all at the OCD Walk in Lenexa, KS this October. Swing by our table and say hi!
Mind Matters Collective, LLC Minnesota

C.tamayo@mindmatterscollective.com
www.mindmatterscollective.com
At Mind Matters Collective (MMC), we believe mental health care starts with seeing the whole person—not just a diagnosis, symptom, or difficult season. Our approach recognizes what each person already brings with them: their experiences, values, relationships, abilities, perspective, and resilience.
MMC offers therapy, psychiatry, and nutrition services within one collaborative practice. When a client works with more than one MMC provider, therapists, our psychiatric provider, and dietitian can communicate and coordinate care, bringing together their different areas of expertise to support the individual as a whole.
For people living with OCD, this collaboration can be especially valuable. OCD does not exist separately from the rest of a person’s life and body. Sleep, nutrition, relationships, medication, stress, physical well-being, and other mental health concerns can all shape someone’s day-to-day experience. Working collaboratively allows providers to understand these connections while keeping the client at the center of their care.
Our therapists use evidence-based approaches for OCD, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Inferential Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT). Psychiatry can offer thoughtful medication support alongside therapy, while nutrition services can address the relationship between nutrition and brain health.
At MMC, we aim to surround clients with a team that recognizes their strengths and works together to support them. Our goal is to help clients strengthen a client's sense of inner security in different aspects of their lives and feel more equipped to navigate OCD and uncertainty, and stay connected to what matters most to them.
New York Anxiety

www.nyanxietytreatment.com

At New York Anxiety Treatment (NYAT), we offer several levels of outpatient care to help people address anxiety in a supportive, practical, and individualized way.
Our approach is grounded in evidence-based treatment, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, and learning to tolerate uncertainty. Whether someone is looking for ongoing support or needs a more intensive treatment experience, our programs are designed to help people move forward rather than continue organizing their lives around anxiety.
Outpatient Support Groups
For people who are able to continue with their regular schedules but would benefit from additional structure and support, NYAT offers a variety of outpatient groups.
Our groups provide an opportunity to learn about anxiety, practice exposure exercises, and connect with others who understand the challenges of living with OCD and anxiety. Programs include Social Anxiety Lab, GOAL, Virtual Exposure Lab, Virtual Cooking Lab, and Friends & Family Support Group.
NYAT also offers Fly with Us!, an ERP-based program for people who experience a fear of flying. The program combines preparation, imaginal exposure, and virtual flight simulations before culminating in a real flight with therapists.
3-Day Bootcamp
For individuals looking for a focused and intensive experience, the 3-Day Bootcamp provides an opportunity to devote several days to confronting anxiety and avoidance.
Rather than simply discussing fears, participants actively practice approaching situations they have been avoiding. The goal is to help individuals build confidence in their ability to experience discomfort and uncertainty without allowing anxiety to dictate their choices.
A short-term intensive can also serve as a helpful bridge into ongoing outpatient treatment.
6-Week Exposure IOP
For individuals who need a more comprehensive level of support, NYAT offers a 6-week Exposure Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for OCD and related anxiety disorders.
The in-person program combines group treatment with individual clinical support. Participants meet three mornings each week and also have two individual sessions each week with members of the clinical team. This structure allows treatment to be both intensive and personalized.
The IOP supports individuals experiencing OCD, illness anxiety disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and social anxiety. Throughout the program, participants have opportunities to practice exposures, work through obstacles, and apply treatment principles to situations in their everyday lives.
At NYAT, the goal is to help each person find an appropriate level of care and develop the skills needed to live with greater freedom and flexibility. Treatment is not about eliminating all anxiety. It is about learning that anxiety does not have to determine what you can—and cannot—do.

When Weekly Therapy Is Not Enough: Finding Freedom from OCD Through Intensive Treatment
Living with OCD can be exhausting, and for many individuals, weekly therapy alone does not provide the level of support they need to get better. That is not a failure on their part or their therapist's. It simply means their symptoms call for a higher level of treatment. At OCDI Texas, we want every person with OCD to know that no matter how long they have struggled, freedom from OCD is possible.
Our Residential Treatment Program and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provide daily, structured, evidence-based treatment built around Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Patients work alongside a specialized clinical team in a supportive environment, practicing the skills that lead to lasting change. For many, a focused period of intensive treatment opens the door to progress that felt out of reach in weekly sessions.
Fall Admissions Now Open
We currently have openings in our Residential and PHP Programs for adults 18 and older, and welcome admissions from patients across the country. We know that committing to a higher level of care is a significant decision, and it is not one anyone makes lightly. That is why we built our program in a warm, home-like environment where patients can feel comfortable and supported while doing the hard work of treatment. For individuals whose lives have been narrowed by OCD, those weeks of focused treatment are an investment in the freedom that follows.
Whether you are a clinician referring a patient or an individual exploring options for yourself or a loved one, we offer complimentary assessments to help determine the right level of care. While we are a self-pay program, our patients often utilize insurance for payment reimbursement or work with their insurance company to secure a single case agreement. Please reach out to us to learn more about this process and options.
To learn more about admissions or to refer a patient, please call our admissions team at (832) 900-8687.

The expansion helps address a growing need for specialized OCD and anxiety treatment while expanding access to care for young adults and families from across the United States and beyond. The new treatment center supports Rogers' continuum of OCD services for children, adolescents, and adults, which includes residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care.
The recent expansion complements Rogers' commitment to advancing OCD care through research. At the Rogers Research Center, scientists are actively exploring ways to enhance treatment outcomes and better understand recovery. One ongoing study uses electroencephalography (EEG), a non-invasive measure of brain activity, to examine how intensive residential OCD treatment may be associated with changes in neural functioning over time. Researchers hope these findings will help identify objective markers of treatment response that can complement subjective reports, as well as inform more personalized, effective interventions in the future.
Another ongoing study uses decades of Rogers outcomes data to explore the effectiveness of OCD treatment for pregnant and postpartum women, helping address a longstanding gap in the evidence available to guide care for this population.
Additional areas of research focus include cognitive bias modification (CBM) applications for OCD, non-invasive brain stimulation such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), medication research, and the role of sleep in recovery.
Through expanded access to specialized treatment and investment in research, Rogers strengthens a core part of its mission, helping individuals with OCD and related disorders reach their full potential for health and well-being, while helping advance the field's understanding of effective care and recovery.

Over the summer, Rogers Behavioral Health opened two new residential buildings on our campus in Oconomowoc, WI. The first is located on the main campus and now treats adults struggling with eating disorders as well as co-occurring conditions like OCD and anxiety. The second building is located just a short drive away and provides residential care for adults with OCD and anxiety disorders. Both new facilities are an extension of Rogers’ ongoing mission to increase access to care.
Rogers is also bringing evidence-based mental health treatment to Wisconsin’s Chippewa Valley. A new outpatient clinic opened in Eau Claire, WI, in September offering care for depression and other mood disorders, OCD, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and substance use challenges. Another outpatient clinic will open in Chippewa Falls, WI, later in the fall. Construction is also underway on a treatment center in Chippewa Falls, which is expected to open in 2027 and offer inpatient and residential services.applications for OCD, non-invasive brain stimulation such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), medication research, and the role of sleep in recovery.

SkinPick and TrichStop at BFRB Con 2026
SkinPick and TrichStop are excited to be joining the BFRB community at BFRB Con 2026, taking place in Oxford from October 8–10.
The conference will bring together researchers, professionals, organizations and people with lived experience to share knowledge, learn from one another and strengthen support for people affected by body-focused repetitive behaviors.
Dr. Sofia Wenzler, Chief Clinical Officer of SkinPick and TrichStop, will present our research on therapist-assisted online treatment for skin picking and hair pulling. The preliminary findings showed meaningful reductions in symptom severity, with participants continuing to improve as they progressed through the programs. We look forward to contributing to conversations about making specialized BFRB treatment more accessible.
Our Chief Community Officer, Meryl Da Costa, will present “Why Parent Education Matters in BFRB Recovery: Reducing Shame and Strengthening Support.” This session will explore why parents and caregivers need support and education too, and how greater understanding can reduce shame and help families respond with compassion.
Meryl will also join Angela Hartlin, Lauren McKeaney and Linda Hollatz for a group discussion on International Perspectives and Global Collaboration. Together, they will reflect on what is happening in BFRB communities around the world and how greater connection across countries can strengthen awareness, resources and support.
The SkinPick and TrichStop team will also be there to connect with the community and share free tools and resources.
We look forward to learning, connecting and being part of a space where research, professional knowledge and lived experience are all valued."

Expanding Specialized Care: Introducing Our Virtual IOP
For more than 30 years, our practice has specialized in working with individuals struggling with OCD, anxiety disorders, and trauma. During that time, we have had the privilege of working with thousands of clients and families and collaborating with many wonderful professionals in our community.
Over the years, however, we encountered a recurring challenge. Sometimes, traditional weekly outpatient therapy simply wasn’t enough. Clients were motivated and working hard, but their symptoms were significantly interfering with school, work, relationships, or everyday life. When a higher level of care was needed, finding a program that was truly specialized in OCD, anxiety, and trauma—rather than generalized mental health treatment—could be frustrating. Long waitlists, limited flexibility, and programs far from home created additional barriers.
That experience inspired us to build the kind of program we wanted to be able to offer our own clients.
We are excited to share the continued growth of our Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for OCD, anxiety, and trauma. With the guidance of Stacey Dobrinsky, PhD, who has extensive experience developing and running IOPs with Anxiety Institute and McLean, we have created a program that combines intensive treatment with the flexibility of virtual care.
Our IOP includes three individual therapy sessions, three specialized group therapy sessions, and three exposure coaching sessions each week. Clients learn and practice evidence-based approaches including ERP, ACT, and CBT. One aspect we are particularly excited about is our exposure coaching: clients don’t have to practice difficult exposures alone. They have support as they begin facing the situations, thoughts, sensations, and experiences that anxiety and OCD have taught them to avoid.
More Than an IOP
While our IOP is an exciting addition, it is only one part of what we offer. Our practice continues to provide specialized individual therapy, as well as professional consultations for clinicians seeking guidance on complex cases. We also offer support groups for the community, including opportunities for individuals and families to connect, learn, and feel less alone.
Our goal is to create a continuum of specialized services so that people can receive the right level of care at the right time—whether that means traditional outpatient therapy, additional community support, professional collaboration, or a more intensive treatment experience.
We’re also excited to share that we have moved! Our new office is located at:
495 Ryders Lane
East Brunswick, NJ
While we are proud to continue serving our New Jersey community, our reach extends well beyond our office. Through PSYPACT, eligible clients can access telehealth services across participating states, allowing us to bring specialized care to individuals who may not have these resources available locally.
We are grateful for our relationships with colleagues and referral partners and look forward to continuing to collaborate. If you have a client who may benefit from our services—or would simply like to learn more about our IOP, outpatient services, professional consultations, or community programs—we would love to connect.

The Concord Center
As the school year begins, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) can make returning to school especially difficult. For some children and teens, anxiety, avoidance, or rituals can interfere with school attendance and daily routines.
The Concord Center is a multidisciplinary practice providing evidence-based care across the lifespan. Our clinicians provide practical, skills-based treatment designed to help clients make meaningful progress in everyday life.
Our Accelerated Outpatient Program (AOP) is designed for adolescents ages 11–18 and adults experiencing moderate-to-severe anxiety or OCD. For adolescents, the AOP may be especially helpful when anxiety or OCD is interfering with school attendance or when weekly therapy has not been enough to make progress. It can also support adolescents transitioning from residential or partial hospitalization care.
The AOP combines multiple therapy sessions each week with a strong focus on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Teens practice facing feared situations with clinician support, including in real-world settings such as home, school, and the community. Parents also receive dedicated coaching to support treatment goals and greater independence. The program typically lasts four weeks, with the option to extend when clinically appropriate.
We are also actively recruiting for several fall skills groups. These groups provide practical support that can complement individual therapy or offer another way to begin building skills.
Our Therapeutic Tabletop Role-Playing Group (TTRPG) uses structured tabletop role-playing to build perspective-taking, frustration tolerance, cooperation, and confidence.
Our DBT-C Parent Skills Group helps parents of younger children practice skills for emotion regulation, communication, distress tolerance, and stronger family relationships.
Our Parent DBT Skills Group gives parents of youth in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or those experiencing challenging behaviors, practical skills to use at home.
Our Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) Parent Group is a virtual, parent-only group for families of children with anxiety or OCD. SPACE focuses on reducing family accommodation and supporting greater independence.
These fall offerings give families several ways to access structured, skills-focused support. Depending on individual needs, groups may complement therapy or provide an earlier starting point while waiting for ongoing care.
