Bewilderment (Why Me, Why Now, Why These Thoughts?)

As part of our continuing Lecture Series, we are honored to host a virtual Zoom event featuring a presentation by Sally Winston, PsyD, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 7:00 pm.
Dr. Winston will explore the topic of Bewilderment (Why Me, Why Now, Why These Thoughts?), the often-overlooked experience of not knowing what’s going on in our minds. She will discuss how this confusion fuels distress in OCD and anxiety, why information (not reassurance) matters, and how understanding the process can bring real relief.
A pioneer in the field, Dr. Winston is a clinical psychologist who has specialized in the treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD for five decades. She is the founder and executive director of the Anxiety and Stress Disorders Institute of Maryland, located independently on the campus of Sheppard Pratt Hospital. She currently divides her time between Baltimore, Vancouver, BC, and Morin Heights, Quebec. She maintains a private practice and continues to guide ASDI.
Dr. Winston co-authored the following books with Dr. Martin Seif: What Every Therapist Needs to Know about Anxiety Disorders, Overcoming Unwanted Intrusive Thoughts, Needing to Know For Sure, and Overcoming Anticipatory Anxiety.
Her website is anxietyandstress.com.
We invite you to register today for this exclusive presentation.
