OCD as Neurodivergence? A Clinical Shift

October 12

Psicología al Sur, one of the largest psychology festivals in Latin America, will take place this October in Buenos Aires, bringing together thousands of students, clinicians, researchers, and community members to discuss the intersections of mental health, culture, and social change.

As part of the program, psychologist, artist, author, and mental health advocate Romina Vitale will present the clinical talk:
“OCD as Neurodivergence? A Clinical Shift.”

The presentation will be held in the framework of International OCD Awareness Week, highlighting both the scientific and social relevance of rethinking obsessive-compulsive disorder through a neuroaffirmative and critical lens. Vitale’s talk will address the limitations of traditional models, propose innovative clinical perspectives, and emphasize the importance of validating the lived experience of people with OCD.

This participation underscores the growing international recognition of the neuroaffirmative approach and its impact on contemporary mental health debates.
