Topic: Real Event OCD & False Memory @ 7PM ET
Stream Description:
OCD latches onto the things most significant to the sufferer. Sometimes this might occur around real life events, where a sufferer wonders how they could possibly accept uncertainty about something they deem as a real moral failing. Alternatively, this might occur around events completely fabricated by the sufferer, as they have spent so much time making sure the feared event has not taken place that they worry it could have actually happened. This town hall will discuss the OCD subtypes of Real Event and False Memory OCD. We have been receiving many requests on these topics. And while different, we look forward to showcasing the fact that they are both simply different forms of OCD that can be treated with ERP. We will offer perspectives from clinicians, as well as advocates with lived experience on these topics.
