Jacob Lester

Counselor
Supervisor: Jeff Pincin, LPCMH

Narrative of Services:

Our practice serves primarily individuals with OCD and related disorders. During each of my clinical internships OCD and related disorder treatment compromised about 70% of my caseload.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

I have experience in treating co-occurring neurodiversity (ADHD/ASD) as well as trauma and personality disorders (BPD/DID). In addition to ERP based approaches I utilize a combination of skills training and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP).

Training Description:

I have two years of experience treating OCD and related disorders in a clinical therapeutic setting. In addition to years of self-training and education I have completed numerous trainings through NOCD, Sheppard Pratt, the ICBT Institute, and personal supervision from three different experienced clinicians through Delaware Therapy Services, The Anxiety and OCD Treatment Center of Delaware, and Insight Therapy and Wellness. This year, I was happily able to attend the IOCDF Annual Conference for the first time. All of this comes in addition to my own personal experience with OCD.

Diversity Statement:

As a self-identified gay man I have great passion for working with the LGBTQ+ community. I am also passionate about treating our neurodivergent OCD family members. Lastly, through clinical internship I was blessed to gain much experience working with adult children of immigrant families.
My education and experiences working in social work have all been tailored to serve diverse populations and promote cultural competence. My graduate level education comes from Delaware State University and I have previously worked for Delaware’s Department of Social Services as well as the State of Maryland’s Educational and Library systems. Each of these positions provided numerous trainings in cultural responsiveness and sensitivity.
