Narrative of Services:

I work at a mid-size counseling agency that serves clients with a wide variety of clinical needs, where I am beginning to specialize in OCD. As a new therapist, I am still building up the number of clients I have that are experiencing OCD, so this also means I have openings! I understand OCD as a gnarly cycle of doubt, fueled by our core fears, rather than our true desires and dreams. When we get stuck in the rumination cycle, we miss out on our life beyond our own OCD bubble. You are not your OCD.

Training Description:

I have done Exposure Response Prevention therapy as well as I-CBT therapy in my own journey with OCD. I come to this work, knowing how OCD can control and ensnare you. I am taking additional training in Acceptance Commitment Therapy for OCD, as well as additional formal trainings in Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT). I plan to take ERP (Exposure Response Prevention) training as well. I am also knowledgeable about Pure O. I would describe my therapeutic style as gentle, and person centered. My aim is to meet your struggles with curiosity and compassion, while honoring your pace.

Diversity Statement:

I work with clients from a variety of backgrounds. Mental Health struggles manifest across cultural, ethnic, religious, and racial divides. Suffering is universal to the human experience. Intersectionality is also important (meaning we are not simply one thing). Our identities overlap and make the lens through which we view life rich and multilayered. I work with people who defy being labeled in one box.
I have completed continuing education units in cultural competency that have equipped me to better serve New Mexico’s diverse populations. The work of cultural competency is ongoing, and I’m committed to continuing to participate in trainings to expand my culturally sensitivity. I have experience serving veterans, as well as service-connected veterans. I have a background in serving individuals with both visible and invisible disabilities. It’s not handicapped, it’s handicapable! I’m currently taking additional training in Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) adapted for neurodivergent individuals with OCD co-occurring with ADHD, Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder.
