Narrative of Services:

Outpatient therapy services offering CBT and ERP to clients of all ages.

Counseling services for children, adolescents, and adults which include:

Anxiety Disorder 50 % of population served
OCD – 20 % of those above.
Focus of practice is primarily exposure therapy with exposures planned in the office and out of the office in client home setting when possible. Relapse prevention planning a component of treatment.

Substance abuse disorders; Depression; Other Anxiety Disorder such as Phobias and GAD.
CBT/Exposure Therapy: Behavioral Activation Therapy; Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction; Applied Behavioral Analysis.

Training Description:

Mary Ablett, Ph.D., LCSW received her doctorate in Clinical Social Work from the Institute of Clinical Social Work in Chicago, Illinois. Her primary focus is the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults using empirically supported cognitive-behavioral techniques for a wide range of disorders. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, particularly Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Separation Anxiety, and Panic Disorder, behavioral problems such as Trichotillomania, and mood disorders such as Depression.

Education (formal) Social Work is a field that places emphasis on working with culturally diverse populations. The SW curriculum is designed to include such courses on the both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Work experience: Experience in multi-cultural and ethnic populations to include Grady Memorial Hospital, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Families First (Atlanta, GA).
Ongoing professional training and consultation in evidenced based practices is an essential part of my practice.
