Narrative of Services:

I provide treatment for children and adults suffering from OCD and other related anxiety disorders. For the treatment of OCD, my emphasis is CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). When appropriate I use other modalities found to improve health such as mindfulness. Additionally, I use evidence based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques to foster a healthier relationship with our thoughts. When working with children, I include family work to give parents the tools to help their child. I also specialize in Family Therapy, providing support and guidance for families struggling with the impact of OCD.

Depression and other anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety, social anxiety and separation anxiety disorder are often co-occurring conditions with OCD. For the treatment of theses conditions I use a combination of evidence based practices such CBT, mindfulness, exposures, somatic experiencing, psycho-spiritual techniques and ACT techniques. My choice of interventions largely depends on what speaks and resonates with clients.

Training Description:

I trained and volunteered at the UCLA Obsessive Compulsive Intensive Treatment Program for many years. I have also been trained in the assessment of children with anxiety disorders at the UCLA Childhood OCD, Anxiety and Tic Disorders Program. My UCLA graduate work focused on family therapy. I have worked at UCLA as an OCD therapist on a 4 year research protocol providing free intensive treatment. I continue to increase my clinical skills through training in treatment modalities such as mindfulness, ACT and Somatic Experiencing Therapy in order to provide a more comprehensive service to my clients.

Diversity Statement:

Race/Ethnicity:Multiracial or Biracial

I have worked for many years in community mental health, providing assessments and therapy to individuals and families. As part of community mental health work, you have the opportunity to experience richer and more diverse clientele. I have traveled all over Los Angeles and surrounding counties to provide assessments for the department of children and family services (DCFS). I had the opportunity to spend time, assess and make recommendations for services to individuals of diverse backgrounds and cultures. As a therapist at a community mental health center, I provided therapy to multicultural individuals and cultural diversity training was continuous.
