Miriam Adams, LICSW, BCD
Narrative of Services:
My private practice in Lexington, MA focuses on the assessment and treatment of adults with anxiety disorders and OCD. I routinely use CBT and ERP, along with other behavioral medicine techniques to treat OCD and related disorders, including hair-pulling and skin-picking. I also specialize in treating anxiety and OCD during pregnancy and postpartum. Special interests include relationship-focused OCD and perfectionism. I also treat phobias, social anxiety, panic disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder.
I received my MSW from Simmons Graduate School of Social Work in 1996 and have been independently licensed as a clinical social worker since 1999. I have trained at Cambridge Hospital and worked at Massachusetts General Hospital. I have over 15 years experience as a psychotherapist practicing CBT to treat anxiety disorders, and have focused on the treatment of OCD and related disorders in adults for the past 5 years. I trained for 2 years in a post-masters fellowship in CBT and DBT at Two Brattle Center in Cambridge, MA, and an additional year fellowship in Behavioral Medicine at Boston Behavioral Medicine in Brookline, MA. I have taken over 120 continuing education hours, including the BTTI, in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD using CBT and ERP. I am a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work.
