Narrative of Services:

I specialize in treating OCD, anxiety, and related concerns. Before becoming a therapist, I practiced law for 17 years, and that experience continues to shape my clinical work. I help clients recognize the anxious or OCD-driven narratives that can take over their lives, and develop a more accurate, values-based understanding of themselves.

Our brains are remarkable and sometimes remarkably glitchy. A key part of my approach is helping you understand how your mind works so that OCD feels less mysterious, less powerful, and more manageable. You are not the anxious voice in your head. OCD’s demands do not define you. Together, we will work to clarify what matters to you and help you move toward your life with greater freedom and flexibility.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

OCD often occurs alongside other concerns, including depression, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, agoraphobia, specific phobias, OCPD, perfectionism, and career-related stress. I treat these using an integrative approach grounded in ACT, ERP, and CBT, and I also incorporate I-CBT when clinically appropriate.

I also work with couples whose relationships are affected by OCD, anxiety, perfectionism, or related challenges. I am trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Level 3.

Training Description:

I began treating OCD in January 2023 as a graduate trainee at a highly regarded OCD specialty practice in New York, where I trained under experienced psychologists specializing in OCD and related disorders. My primary supervisor and mentor had more than 30 years of experience treating OCD and is a frequent contributor to The OCD Stories podcast.

I am now a Staff Psychotherapist at that practice, as well as at another OCD-focused practice led by an IOCDF-member psychologist with expertise in OCD, perfectionism, and trauma. I am licensed in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, and I am authorized to provide telehealth services in Florida.

Diversity Statement:

I warmly welcome clients from all populations, identities, cultures, and communities. I have experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients, as well as individuals from a wide range of religious, ethnic, cultural, and professional backgrounds. I am deeply interested in understanding how each client’s background, values, relationships, and communities shape their experience of OCD, anxiety, and other mental health challenges.

You will always be seen and heard as a unique individual in my office.

I studied multicultural counseling during my graduate training at Pace University and developed related skills through my legal education at Columbia Law School and nearly two decades of legal practice. As a former attorney — first as defense counsel and later as Chief Trial Attorney for the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission — I worked with and advocated for people across diverse populations and contexts. That experience continues to inform my commitment to respectful, culturally responsive, and individualized care.
