Narrative of Services:

My practice focuses extensively on the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder and related conditions, which comprise the majority of my caseload. I have substantial experience treating diverse OCD presentations, including scrupulosity, existential OCD, relationship OCD, harm OCD, and compulsive rumination. Treatment is grounded in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with individualized, function-based behavioral interventions. I frequently work with complex and treatment-resistant cases, including co-occurring depression, anxiety, and substance use. Services emphasize restoring agency, reducing compulsive avoidance, and helping clients develop durable, values-guided patterns of psychological functioning and meaningful engagement with life.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

My treatment approach integrates evidence-based methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and behavioral interventions with a depth-oriented understanding of how depression, anxiety, and substance use develop as learned strategies for regulating overwhelming internal states. Treatment focuses on restoring agency, increasing behavioral flexibility, and helping clients change their relationship to thoughts, emotions, and urges rather than organizing life around avoiding them. Clients develop the capacity to tolerate internal experiences, reduce avoidance patterns, and build stable, values-guided ways of living that support resilience, psychological integration, and long-term emotional health.

Training Description:

Doctoral degree (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited graduate program, with APA-accredited clinical internship training. Extensive outpatient experience treating OCD and related disorders using evidence-based approaches, primarily Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Ongoing continuing education, intensive study of the OCD and behavioral therapy literature, and extensive clinical application with diverse OCD presentations, including scrupulosity, existential OCD, relationship OCD, and compulsive rumination. Additional advanced training in AAMFT-accredited family therapy informs treatment of relational dynamics, attachment, and comorbid conditions commonly present in OCD.

Diversity Statement:

I served approximately 20 years as CEO and/or Clinical Director of a tribal mental health and substance use treatment center, overseeing culturally responsive services and administering grant-funded programs for Native American communities. My APA-accredited doctoral and internship training included formal preparation in culturally competent care. In my current practice, I work with individuals from diverse cultural, religious, and identity backgrounds. I have extensive experience treating OCD within varied belief systems, including religious and moral contexts, with careful attention to each client’s values, identity, and autonomy while reducing compulsive patterns and restoring psychological flexibility.
