Narrative of Services:
Dr. Ashton offers anxiety treatment for the full spectrum of anxiety disorders, from mild to severe, to include: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Specific Phobias such as fear of flying, needle and medical phobias, and paruresis (bashful bladder). She utilizes exposure based therapy and exposure and response prevention (ERP) techniques for the treatment of OCD and habit reversal therapy (HRT) for the treatment of trichotillomania.
Dr. Ashton is a licensed psychologist with a specialization in anxiety disorders who provides evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adult populations in the office or via telepsychology. Dr. Ashton received her doctorate of psychology from Spalding University in 2001 and completed her postdoctoral training in anxiety disorders at St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute, a nationally-acclaimed treatment center for anxiety disorders and an affiliate of St. Louis University, where she remained on as a staff psychologist for 11 years.
